As one of the founding members, my role at Mind Makers was always cross-functional. Along with the growth of the company my functions expanded as well, to become:
- Content development in accordance to the Brazilian Ministry of Education, in form of a curriculum focused on students aged 6+. This curriculum was focused on the STEAM areas, and used tools like Raspberry Pis, littleBits, SPRK+, Javascript, Python and others.
- Training the teachers/instructors who would then present the content to the students. This training was done first via video courses (starring yours truly), and then face-to-face sessions at the partner schools.
- Conducting trial classes to potential students;
- Setting up the Mind Makers’ equipment inside partner schools, and evaluating the local instructors' performance;
- Presenting the company’s business model and its content to different stakeholders;
- Researching relevant tools and content to help develop the curriculum further, via attending annual Maker Faires in New York City, performing market research and being alert of the upcoming technologies.
